STEPHEN FRAZIER, CNN ANCHOR: Good evening everyone, I'm Stephen Frazier at CNN center in Atlanta.

We'd like to show you some events occurring right now in Covington, Kentucky near Cincinnati, the corporate headquarters of Comair, the nation's second-largest commuter airline. This gentleman, Captain J.C. Lawson, who is chairman of the Comair Pilots Master Executive Council of the Airline Pilots Association telling reporters in this room that Comair pilots, some 1,300 strong have, by a vote of 1,042 to 99, rejected a contract proposed by Comair's parent company, Delta Airlines.

The vote counted this afternoon, and this announcement coming as a disappointment to travelers. Comair, as I said, the second largest commuter airline in the country, flying hundreds of flights a day; has about 1,300 pilots who now announce that they are unable to accept their proposed settlement.

That means that their strike of some 48 days will continue. The airline, which has been shut down during much of that time, will continue not operating and negotiations, apparently at a standstill right now.

We'll bring you more of this event as we get them. I'm Stephen Frazier, CNN center in Atlanta.
