COLLEEN MCEDWARDS, CNN ANCHOR: We've got some breaking news for you right now. Katharine Hepburn has been admitted to the hospital for tests. She is in Hartford Hospital in stable condition. We've got James Battaglio on the phone right now to tell us more about this -- James.
JAMES BATTAGLIO, HARTFORD HOSPITAL SPOKESMAN: Good morning. Miss Hepburn was admitted to Hartford Hospital Wednesday evening, about 6:00 p.m. She's listed as stable condition. She was brought her from something called the Shoreline Clinic in Connecticut. Her physician had requested that she be admitted.
She's listed as stable, as I said, and this morning is very comfortable. She's being treated here hopefully with the intent of discharging sometime over the next few days, assuming she responds to her treatment.
MCEDWARDS: And James, just remind us a little bit more about her health history, her age, that kind of thing.
BATTAGLIO: I know very little about her health history. Miss Hepburn, of course, is listed as, I think, 92. I'm not sure but she has roots to Hartford Hospital where her father and her brother were physicians here. And of course, she lives in Connecticut, so she has her physicians here at the hospital.
MCEDWARDS: And are they saying anything more about her condition at this point?
BATTAGLIO: No, she's quite stable. We just hung up with her physician a few minutes ago. And as I say, there's no cause for alarm. And she seems to be quite comfortable.
MCEDWARDS: All right, James Battaglio, thanks very much for that update.
BATTAGLIO: Thank you.
MCEDWARDS: So again, we'll keep you up-to-date on this. But Katharine Hepburn in Hartford Hospital, stable condition -- doctors saying no need for alarm here, admitted on Wednesday for tests. And we'll give all the details here on CNN as we get them.
