Confusion Continues at Hartsfield International Airport

BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Once again, right now anticipating and waiting for airport officials at Atlanta's Hartsfield to come out and tell us what's happening inside their airport.

What we do know is that things are basically at a standstill right now. But authorities have halted departing flights and the majority of incoming flights as well. In addition to that, planes in other cities headed to Atlanta have been told to remain on the ground for now.

Apparently a man breached security, running through a security checkpoint and then possibly jumping on a shuttle train. The word we have is that they're looking for him inside the airport; and it's a big airport. If anyone has ever flown through Atlanta, or living in the Atlanta area, you know how enormous this airport can be. About a half dozen different terminals, numerous gates in each one. A couple shuttle trains that take people and move them throughout that airport. It is an enormous place, and arguably the largest airport, the busiest airport in the world.

Clearly you can see right now a number of people have been forced, gathered outside. We are told all the passengers and all employees who work at the airport in the concourses cleared out and sent to the main baggage area.

Suffice to say, we'll work it, let you know what we get. But in the meantime, it is a mess for a number of people traveling not only in Atlanta, but throughout the country today. More coming up shortly.
