THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED. KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: We're following a breaking news story here at CNN right now. This comes to us from The Associated Press. Two parts, actually, to this breaking news story.
The U.S. attorney office says today that several people have been indicted for their material support of a terrorism organization. Attorney General John Ashcroft and other officials are expected to discuss this case this afternoon at a news conference. We are going to bring that to you about 12:55 Eastern Time. That's according to the AP about these indictments.
But what we can tell you, and we did get this confirmed, that Attorney Lynne Stewart was arrested this morning apparently on charges that she harbored terrorists. However, it is not clear whether she is named in this indictment. Now, why is the name Lynne Stewart important here? That's because she represented Omar Abdel Rahman. He is the Muslim cleric now serving a life sentence in the United States for conspiring to assassinate Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and blow up five New York City landmarks in the 1990s.
We'll continue to follow up on this story and bring you that press conference with Attorney General John Ashcroft about 12:55 Eastern Time.
