ANDERSON COOPER, CNN ANCHOR: We are just receiving reports about a multiple shooting in Oklahoma. It currently occurred in Sequoia County in several different locations. One person was the shooter, apparently. At least two people have died. Six people have been wounded.
For the latest, we're going to go to Kym Koch with the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigations. Kym, are you there?

KYM KOCH, OKLAHOMA BUREAU OF INVESTIGATIONS: Yes.

COOPER: What can you tell us about these shootings?

KOCH: Well, first of all, this is very preliminary information. This just happened about three hours ago. And we have multiple scenes. So I'm trying to piece this together as best I can.

The information I have is the suspect apparently was driving erratically through this neighborhood in Sallisaw. Two neighbors got onto him. And he shot three neighbors. And one of those was female, and she is dead. Then he drove to a local car dealership, just down the street, and shot two people there. And I -- a car salesman and a customer. And I believe one of those people are dead.

Then he drove further down the road and shot two people who were shopping for statuaries in the statuary store off of highway 64. And they're injured and were taken to a local hospital.

The next person was in the town of Muldrow, which is about nine miles east of Sallisaw. He shot that person, injured that person and he also shot at a Muldrow police officer, but didn't hit the officer.

COOPER: So we're talking...

KOCH: He was stopped...

COOPER: Go ahead.

KOCH: ...at a roadblock in Roland, about 20 miles probably from Sallisaw. And (UNINTELLIGIBLE) to officers there.

COOPER: So he is in custody at this time?

KOCH: Yes, he's in custody in the Sequoia County jail in Sallisaw. And he's an 18-year old male. I don't have names at this point. So... COOPER: Do you have any sense of -- or did he give any indication of why he went on this shooting spree?

KOCH: You know, I don't know that our agents have been there yet to talk to him. We're trying to find out, you know, piece together different scenes and talk to the process his vehicle, obviously, and then talk to the various victims, if they are able to talk at this point at the local hospital.

I know several of them are in the Sallisaw Hospital. And a couple have transported to Port Smith, Arkansas Hospital, which is very close.

COOPER: Now you mentioned Sallisaw. Sallisaw is near the Arkansas, Oklahoma state line.

KOCH: Yes.

COOPER: How big an area are we talking about? I mean, these are multiple scenes at least by my count, four or five different locations? How wide an area are we talking about?

KOCH: Oh, gosh, let's see. Probably from Sallisaw to Roland is about oh, 30, 40 miles. So...

COOPER: Do you know what time the first shooting began?

KOCH: I think it was around 4:30, 5:00 this afternoon.

COOPER: And what time did it end? You said it ended about three hours ago?

KOCH: Yes, it ended probably around I want to say 6:45. Well, that's when we were called. So probably around 6:30, 6:00, 6:30, something like that.

COOPER: All right, so it went on for about an hour, an hour or half or so?

KOCH: Right, right.

COOPER: And no understanding of why he shot neighbors and then drove to a car dealership?

KOCH: Not at this point. You know, he was obviously angry at neighbors apparently for telling him to -- I mean, exchanged words with neighbors when he was driving erratically. But other than that, why he continued, you know, obviously, that's going to take a little while -- and we're going to have to talk to him and find out, kind of what was going on to determine that. And we're not at that point yet in the investigation.

COOPER: All right, and my last question, is he a resident of Sallisaw, this 18-year old shooter?

KOCH: Yes, my understanding is he goes to high school at the high school there.

COOPER: Oh, all right. So he's a high school student. All right, Kym, thanks very much. I know it's a developing story. We appreciate you sharing what you information you do have with us. Kym Koch with the Oklahoma state bureau of investigations.

KOCH: Thank you Anderson.

COOPER: Thank you, Kym.
