Deadly Storms Hammering U.S.

HEIDI COLLINS, CNN ANCHOR: Back to weather now. Teresa Woodard from WBIR TV in Knoxville is joining us over the phone with more on the killer storms there.
Teresa, we've been with you all morning, tell us what the latest is now in your area.
TERESA WOODWARD, WBIR-TV REPORTER: Good morning again, Heidi.
It's about 12 minutes or so after 6:00 here, and we're told that the search is going to resume (INAUDIBLE) unaccounted for. That's according to the Associated Press. And they're also saying that seven people are dead, just in this one county where I am, that's Morgan County, Tennessee, about an hour or so northwest of Knoxville, in the east part of Tennessee. It's (INAUDIBLE) coming up to our TV cameras and just basically saying put me on air so my family knows that I made it through this storm.
It is dark here. There is no power, there is no phone so basically there's no contact. It's a real mess, and we're just waiting to see what (INAUDIBLE) is bad.
COLLINS: All right, Teresa, we are having a little bit of problem there with the telephone. I'm not sure if that's because of the weather situation there, but we will of course come back to you and check on that a little bit later.
We are going to go to Chad right now though. Chad Myers going to give us an update on what's happening with the weather.
CHAD MYERS, CNN METEOROLOGIST: Yes.
COLLINS: Chad, something new coming in?
MYERS: Heidi, what we talked about before, the 45 people that are missing or unaccounted for west of Knoxville, did hear from our news desk downstairs in that there were many, many shelters that were opened yesterday and a lot of those folks are in shelters. They just don't know what shelter they're in. So it isn't like we have missing people out there, at least 45 of them, we just have them unaccounted for and possibly misplaced.
Still have that tornado warning for the District of Columbia, for the Arlington County area, including Alexandria, Fairfax and Falls Church. More on this coming up right after this break.
