KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: We begin with breaking news, a plane crash in southeast Turkey. Our Jane Arraf on the phone from Istanbul -- what can you tell us, Jane?
JANE ARRAF, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Hi, Kyra. Well, it is a Turkish Airlines flight that crashed on the way from Ankara to Diyarbakir, which is in the southeast. It appears to have crashed on landing at the Diyarbakir airport.
Now, there were 71 people on board, according to hospital and airline sources, and there were some survivors. Hospitals in the area are saying that they are taking the wounded from the crash site to hospitals there to treat them. It's not clear how many people may have died on this crash, and more details, obviously, are still coming in. We're just getting word of how many people might have been hurt by this, how many people might have died, and exactly how bad this crash was in southeastern Turkey -- Kyra.
PHILLIPS: All right. Our Jane Arraf, live from Istanbul, working that plane crash right now, bringing us as much information as possible. We'll check in with you, Jane, as soon as you have more information -- thank you.
