Operation in Northern Iraq May Have Netted High-Ranking Iraqis

LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: Harris Whitbeck reported he was listening to reports on Al Jazeera, where he learned recordings of some eyewitnesses there who had talked with reporters of Al Jazeera. The owner of the house that was fired upon today was actually being investigated by U.S. troops, and they actually came out right before that gun battle ensued.
Let's bring in Harris right now. He's checking in from Baghdad -- Harris.
HARRIS WHITBECK, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, Leon, again, just scattered information on what happened at this house in Mosul, in northern Iraq, according to Al Jazeera. Apparently, soldiers who were interrogating the owner of the house, who was allegedly a cousin of Saddam Hussein, during that interrogation process, gunfire erupted from that house, sparking this major firefight, in which four people were killed. Those four people now being described by military sources here as high-ranking allies of Saddam Hussein.
But of course, as you're hearing out of Washington, the identities of at least two of those bodies might be established. Al Jazeera Television network who spoke to eyewitnesses on the ground, said at some point during the day today, Saddam Hussein's sons, Uday and Qusay, have been at that house. But there is no immediate confirmation yet on whether they were at the house when the firefight ensued -- Leon.
