Verdict Reached in Malvo Trial

KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: But while that was coming forward, when it rains, it pours. We're now being told there is a verdict in the case of 18-year-old John Lee Malvo. As you know, jurors in the trial of this teenage sniper suspect had been deliberating for a couple of days.
Now we're told there is a verdict in the Lee Boyd Malvo case. Malvo now 18, faces terrorism, capital murder and weapons charges in the October, 2002 killing of Linda Franklin outside a Home Depot in Fairfax County, Virginia and could be sentenced to death if, indeed, convicted.

Elaine Quijano outside the courtroom right now as the news came down. Elaine, what can you tell us?

ELAINE QUIJANO, CNN NATIONAL CORRESPONDENT: Hello to you, Kyra. We've just received word moments ago, that verdict is due to be read at about 4:45 Eastern time. This jury has been deliberating since yesterday, as you mentioned. By my rough count, about 13 hours, it took, including the breaks that they had taken for lunch and whatnot.

This jury has gone through more than 20 days of testimony in this case, a jury consisting of four men and eight women, four African- Americans, eight white. The jurors in this case ranged in the background...
