Britain Receives Intelligence on Threats Against U.K. Airliners

CAROL LIN, CNN ANCHOR: This just in to the CNN Center -- British intelligence has told British airliners, including Virgin Atlantic, that they have received some general threats against British airliners. As a result, airliners like Virgin Atlantic are now already manning flights with armed air marshals -- this according to U.S. officials.
It's not exactly clear when that happened, but the British government did recently announce it was going to be placing air marshals on planes. It appears they've done so sooner than expected because of this general, not specific, threat against British airliners.

It's not the first time that British airliners have done this. In fact, back in August, the country recently canceled some flights to Saudi Arabia -- this, while the United States is in an orange terror alert threat.
