ANDERSON COOPER, CNN ANCHOR: In a way, soldiers have two families really, their original families back home and the new families with whom they serve. We've touched on how happy those back home have been to hear about the freedom of the seven Americans who are no longer prisoners of war. This story is about the great happiness of the second, larger family, at least a couple of them.
Karl Penhaul reports.

COOPER: And new details are emerging about the capture of Young and Williams. We've just learned -- we've just talked to a "Washington Post" reporter in our last hour who has an article in today's "Washington Post" which has some of the first details about their capture. Apparently they jumped into a canal after their -- after their Apache went down. They swam about a quarter of a mile. And then finally afraid of hypothermia, they tried to make a break for the woods. There was already a moon up. And in the moonlight they were spotted by Iraqis whom they then surrendered to after some warning shots were fired. We're going to hear a lot more details in the coming days no doubt.
