THE BOSS IS BACK

PAULA ZAHN: Welcome back. Bruce Springsteen has taken the stage in front of a crowd of 55,000 in his home state of New Jersey. It is night two of a tenet concert series. And by the time he wraps up, it is expected that he will have sold more tickets than any single act on a tour ever. Deborah Feyerick is standing outside with the tailgaters as we speak. I'm jealous, what's going on there right now, Deborah?
DEBORAH FEYERICK, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, Paula, you don't have to be so jealous. The band struck up about 40 minutes ago. We can hear the roar of the crowd but, I have to tell you, I'm a little disappointed, we can't hear any of the music from where we are in this parking lot, so you're not missing a great deal. But we were amongst the tailgaters earlier this afternoon. Everybody was so psyched to be here at the Meadowlands, at Giant Stadium. They brought hamburgers and hot dogs. The folks built a boardwalk. There was sand, volleyball. They were trying to recreate a little bit the Asbury Park here. One guy we spoke to has gone to some 46 concerts and says he's going to 8 more by the time this summer is done.
This has been an extraordinary successful tour that he's been on. It's lasted for more than a year already. And as you said "Billboard" magazine says he has broke every record. He's sold the most tickets to the most concerts of any tour. He has broken the record earlier set by the Rolling Stones. But, again, fans here were so thrilled he's back in Jersey, back in the home state. And you've got fans of all ages. We spoke to a 10-year-old. We spoke to a 70-year-old. So that's just Bruce in a nutshell, he's a regular guy and that's why he came -- Paula.
ZAHN: Well maybe we'll give you a break so you don't have to do any more work and you can hear Bruce's music tonight. Have a good rest the time at the concert. It would not be a good thing if you did not get to hear him tonight. So I'm giving you permission to go closer and listen. Thanks Deborah.
