Anderson Cooper's Final Thought

ANDERSON COOPER, CNN ANCHOR: Finally tonight, Arnold, millions are mourning the governship that now won't be and wondering what if. What if Arnold Schwarzenegger did run and won. What is his career so far from pumping iron to "T3" tell us about where he would have stood on the issues?
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
COOPER (voice-over): For instance, traffic. It's a big problem in California. "T3" suggests how Arnold might handle congestion. At the same time, help overworked emergency responders.
ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER, ACTOR: I'll drive.
COOPER: What about social issues?
"Kindergarten Cop" gives us glimpses of his stands on educational issues such as sex ed.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Boys have a penis, girls have a vagina.
SCHWARZENEGGER: Thanks for the tip.
COOPER: And so important to California, bilingual education.
But there are other issues as well. "Twins" raising the possibility that Schwarzenegger might have been more culturally liberal than people might think.
In fact, "Total Recall" makes us wonder the transgender community might have had a strong ally in him. And whether he might have been somewhat flexible on marital issues.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You wouldn't hurt me. After all we're married.
SCHWARZENEGGER: Consider it a divorce.
COOPER: Then there's health care.
SCHWARZENEGGER: Take this thing out of the case and stick it up your nose.
COOPER: (on camera): In the end this former bodybuilder had to decide is whether he's an actor or now an politician. He had to ask himself the same question he posed in "Total Recall."
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You erased your identity and implanted a new one.
SCHWARZENEGGER: If I'm not me, who the hell am I?

COOPER: Yes, that is the question. In the end he's remaining a movie star. In fact, he said he's only in the middle of his career which means we may have lost a governor but we can look forward to Terminator 6, and Conan: the (UNINTELLIGIBLE) and pumping one a day plus iron.
