Former NYC Mayor Giuliani Reads Words of Winston Churchill

RUDY GIULIANI, FMR. MAYOR OF NEW YORK: Six decades ago, Winston Churchill's beloved country also suffered a terrible blow, and faced what seemed to be insurmountable dangers and despair. He taught me, and I remember on September 11, 2003, that he always believed and we believe that people who live in freedom have something to live for, something to fight for, and even something to die for, and they will prevail over those who live in oppression.
Winston Churchill taught us that our ideas and ideals of freedom and democracy will prevail. Winston Churchill said, "We shall not fail or falter, we shall not weaken or tire, neither the sudden shock of battle nor the long-drawn trials of vigilance and exertion will wear us down."

He also said, "Repair the waste, rebuild the ruins, heal the wounds, crown the victors, comfort the broken and brokenhearted. There is the battle. We have one to fight. There is the victory we have now to win. Let us go forward together."

SOLEDAD O'BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR: "Let us go forward together," the words of Winston Churchill being read by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. The mayor, to many people, becoming a symbol of New York City's resilience in the wake of the attacks two years ago when he truly took the helm and showed incredible leadership in the city, across the nation and also around the world, a man who clearly affected to this day by the events of that day two years ago.
